  • [es-pree de less-ka/-iay] (idiom) A witty remark that occurs to you too late, literally on the way down the stairs. The Oxford Dictionary of Quotations defines esprit de l'escalier as, "An untranslatable phrase, the meaning of which is that one only thinks on one's way downstairs of the smart retort one might have made in the drawing room."

Have a wonderful trip, Claire-bear! safe travels and have fun!!

Have a really, really great time, Claire. In a very selfish way, I do hope you blog a tiny bit, so we can live vicariously through you!

Enjoy! And be careful. (Sorry. Always have to say it! I'm a mom, remember. lol.)

I'll be surprised if you don't blog once or twice. You wrote from China, Claire. But have fun and take pictures.

I don't think I knew you were off to Europe. Enjoy! We'll be waiting for you right here when you get back.

Claire- I realize you're gone already, but I hope your travels go well. Can't wait to hear about it all.

Thanks again for the CD's!

Looking forward to any photos you take on your journey :)
